I knew Bridget and I would be a match made in heaven right from when she first contacted me, telling me she was planning a wedding and wanted her toy, red Moodle puppy (Maggie) to play a big part in the day. As I own pretty much the same dog, we decided to meet up for a coffee with our dogs and as expected, we clicked straight away. Bridget and Stu’s wedding was at a gorgeous café in Thornbury called Little Henri, and we actually met there for our catch up which was fabulous as Bridget was able to show me exactly what she was planning.
On the day Bridget and her girls got ready in a classic Victorian terrace in Northcote. Soon after I arrived we realised we had a small problem… Maggie the Moodle was a little camera shy. Literally. She was terrified and tried to hide every time she saw my cameras, but luckily she warmed up to the camera as the day progressed.
Bridget and Stu decided to do a ‘first look’, and we chose a laneway in Fitzroy as the couple loved the area with it’s gorgeous houses and Edinburgh gardens. From here the fun loving couple, Maggie and I explored Fitzroy finishing off their portraits before the ceremony.
We then made our way back to Thornbury for the afternoon ceremony in the courtyard. Little Henri is a great venue to shoot as it’s so pretty on the inside but there are also plenty of little laneways nearby that can be used for more photos. At sunset we did just this and snuck out for a confetti photos.
This was such a happy, chilled out wedding that I loved being a part of. Thanks for having me Bridget and Stu!
